Get Ready In The Park 2017 took place on Saturday, May 13th. If you want to know what Get Ready In The Park 2017 is, you can read about it here.
The day started off very wet. It was raining while we were setting up, and I was wondering how busy we would be. Turns out the rain let up and Edmonton families came out for the fun.
This year I was showing off one of my company’s backhoes. Tractors are quite the hit for kids. I must say, being able to let kids play around inside reminded me of my dad bringing me to work to play on everything. Showing them how we dig, play with the joysticks and of course honking the horn.
There was so much going on in Hawrelak Park the day just blew by. From bucket truck rides, firetrucks,
damaged equipment, to tractors you can climb on.
While in the kids area from what I saw, the biggest draw was from the backhoe and the mini CN Rail train. Even I fell in love with the train. My dad worked for CN Rail and seeing that flooded me with great memories of seeing him at work.
I had such a fun time at the park. I can’t wait until next year’s event. Seeing the look on the kids faces as the excitement built was so worth it.
If you didn’t make it out this year, mark your calender now for next year. Such a great free family event that you can’t miss.
